Import challenges and new team member
After weeks of work and final completion of our ventilator at our partners All India Institute of Medical Sciences and AgVa Healthcare in India, it is now stuck in the shipping process due to the corona-lockdown in India. Both the Indian export restrictions for ventilators and the interrupted logistics chain pose enormous challenges for us. Thanks to diplomatic support, we have now obtained an exceptional permit to export our ventilator. Nevertheless, all flows of goods within India have come to a standstill and air freight to Germany is still paralysed. Therefore we have decided to reproduce the ventilator in Germany in a slimmed down form. Rainer has brought Uli Köhler, a medical and biotech expert, on board for this purpose. Together with our Australian ventilator king Clancy, we are now working at full speed on the construction of the prototype with 3D printed components, such as the turbine, the housing and the piping. The design of the control and regulation technology including sensors will be extended by the integration of our oxygenator with the ventilator to meet the required parameters like O2 flow, pressure and O2 concentration for the therapy of Covid19 patients. It remains on a high tension until the final on 17.6. at the ETH in Zurich!
